Procedure for registration of property in delhi

Sir/ Madam, There is a property (residential flat) in Delhi which is to be transferred by way of a Gift by a mother to her son. However, the mother is not in a position to attend Sub-Registrar's office for the proceedings as she is medically incapable. My questions are: 1.Is there any provision for a Power of Attorney by which the property may be gifted and if yes, whether the Power of Attorney is also to be registered? 2. What are the applicable stamp duty and registration fees (considering the present owner is a lady)? Thanks, Raghav Mulay

Hi Raghav

The stamp duty applicable on gift is same as conveyance which is 3% in case of females and 5% in case of males. If you need assistance for the same, please mail me at mittaljets@gmail.com.
