Provident fund code

Dear Members,

There is a contractor who has deputed his employees (more than 100+) on the premises of principal employer for undertaking loading, unloading and packing activities. The industry of principal employer is manfacturing of aluminium.  But the PF Contribution of contractor's employees is deducted by the principal employer from the amount of the invoice raised by the contractor and deposited in a trust maintained by the principal employer. The contractor does not have any provident fund code so far.

Please let me know if this contractor is eligible to apply for a provident fund code under the Employees Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952.

Should you need more information, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Warm regards,

Pallavi
