Employment of Bank or LIC can not be reuisitioned by the Election Commision for election duty.

I AM AN AAO IN LIC OF INDIA, JORHAT DIVISIONAL OFFICE.I HAVE BEEN REQUISITIONED FOR ASSAM STATE ASSEMBLY POLL DUTY AS PRESIDING OFFICER .THE D.E.O. HAS SENT THE APPOINTMENT LETTER UNDER THE SECTION 26(i) OF REPRESENTATION OF PEOPLES' ACT,1951(43 OF 1951) .I HAVE ALREADY ATTENDED THE 1ST ROUND OF TRAINING ON 13/03/11.THE SECOND ROUND OF TRAINING IS ON 20/03/2011.KINDLY ADVISE.

Some of our Officers of LIC in upper Cadres have now been allotted Micro-Observer Duty. But we shall have to go to election duty as Presiding officer.

Even if you have resigned from Bank yet the election duty appointment is made by electroal authority and refusal or non-reporting can laed you to Jail for 2 years.
