Registration for rental agreements

Hi Sir/Madam,

I have query regarding rental agreement

Is rental agreement need to be registered Yes or No if Yes what is the criteria and at what rate it need to be register

Is this applicable to overall India or is it state act

Please clarify my above doubt

1. It is your wish you want to registered or not ? There is not such policy.

2. This is the state act (Delhi State Rent Control Act)

ANY RENT AGREEMENT FOR MORE THAN ONE YEAR NEEDS REGISTRATION. IN THE ABSENCE OF REGISTRATION THE AGREEMENT DURATION SHALL BE ONE YEAR.
