Release deed

I wish to know that after the death of husband, wife can issue a release deed. The property was in name of her husband who died. The wife has a minor daughter also. the release deed has been issed in nameof her (wife's) mother in law. The wife has released the total property to her mother in law's name.

if such kind of deed is valid or not. kindly suggest.

After the death of husband wife will not be the absolute owner of the husband's property, minor children has also got equal share in that property.

She could have released only uptil her share in the property and not the entire property, hence the release holds good to the extent of her share.

the release deed has been registered three years ago, the stamp duty has also been paid. she has released 2/3rd of her and her minor daughter's share to the mother in law of her.

skindly let me know if such deed is valid or invalid. thanks.
