I want to install a split AC in my apartment below my window above the sunshade of my downstairs neighbours.But they are objecting to this , saying that it will heat up their room becuase the outdoor unit will be right away their window shade.What legal actions can I take against them?

do yoou really think that you have a right to make them inconvenient for the sake of you AC.

They have a split AC installed in the same fashion in one of their rooms.I asked why would the rule only apply to me, they need to take theirs down too. But the person living below them is the guy's brother, so they don't have a problem. But they have a problem if I install mine in the same fashion.

There is no complication in the case.
You can install AC which does not impete peaceful living of any neighbour
