Time limit to file writ petition in high court

Sir,

I need to file a case against a central university for not considering my candidature for a post under direct recruitment. It has been around 15 months since the declaration of the final result. I appealed to the university and received a reply stating that their action was in accordance with the rules. However, I am not satisfied with their response. Can I now file a case in the High Court, given that 15 months have already passed?

Yes, you can file writ of MANDAMUS in high court against central university.

Moreover, you will have to file application for condonation of delay along with writ petition.

Law of Limitation  does not apply to file writ petitions u/ Art 226 of Constitution of India. However it should be filed within reasonable time.

While there's no prescribed time limit to file a writ petition in the High Court under Article 226 of the Constitution, it's generally expected to be filed within a reasonable time, and undue delay can be grounds for dismissal.

Yes, law of limitation does not apply while filing WP. However, dealys and laches, if any, need to be expalined.
