To serve legal notice

Sir, I would like to file a writ petition against my employer in the High Court, Chandigarh. The matter is about pay fixation. I will not be hiring any lawyer.

Is it mandatory to serve a legal notice?

If yes, what should be the format of such notice.

Mr. Sharma

Writ is maintainable only against the State if it is violating any of the fundamental rights enshrined in the Article 14 to 31 of the Constitution of India.First you need to go through Article 12 of the Constitution in order to understand the meaning of State.
