Trying to steal my land - barga claim

Hi,

I hope I can get some advice here.

I have 33 decimals of land in Nadia District W.B.

I bought this land in 2004, March.

Since then, I have been out of the country mostly, coming back occassionally for work.

The land has been left untouched and no permission was given to anyone to cultivate or look after my land, no verbal agreement, no written agreement of any kind.

Now however, two people who helped in the purchase of the land in 2004 are claiming that they have been cultivating/farming the land for the past 10 years or more and want to get 20 katha of my land.

They have paid the local police to confirm their story and have applied to the High Court in Kolkata to get ownership.

What can I do, if they have paid off the police? What are my options to keep my land?

Thanks

High court has no jurisdiction.  You file a suit for declaration and injunction against those persons in the civil court.

Thank you for your quick response Rajeev.

Can they make barga claim by going to the High Court or not?

What can I do regarding the bribery of the local police?
