Uprooting planted trees on my street

Respected Sir/Madam,

I am residing in Ram nagar South 19th Main Road,Madipakkam,Chennai I had planted a tree ,which have been uprooted by resident of next street parallel to my street stating it might touch the electrical line and the roots can enter the foundation but they don't have access to this street .They are also against planting trees in our street which would be Beneficial for them too.Their house's face our street. How to confront them legally.

Thank you for your precious guidance in advance

the minimum distance to plant tree from house should be 15 to 20 feet. This will make sure that the roots of the tree do not cause any damage to the foundation as the tree grows.

However a third person, who is in no manner affected by this, cannot uproot the same.

You can lodge a criminal complaint against him for creating nuisance.

Uprooting trees is also an offence under the law.
