what is adultery case , if married women having a affair

Pls give details on adultery sec, case if married women having an affair with boyfriend.

IPC section 497 deals with Adultery .

There must be s*xual intercourse with the consent of the women who he knows is married to another man and such intercourse must happen without the consent of her husband not amounting to rape, is guilty of offence of adultery and is punishable by imprisonment to a term which may extend to 5 years or fine or both.

Note: Only a man can be proceeded against and punished for adultery, but the wife cannot be, even as an abettor.
