Members of a newly-formed group of lawyer’s Advocates for Self Respect submitted a memorandum to Karnataka Governor H R Bhardwaj seeking action against advocates responsible for ‘vandalism’ in the High Court premises on November 9 during a protest against Chief Justice P D Dinakaran who was facing land-grabbing charges.

The memorandum condemned the incidents and urged the Governor to use his office to bring the culprits to book, senior advocate Ravi Varma Kumar said.

Earlier, the members sat on a day-long dharna covering their mouth with black cloth at Mahatma Gandhi Statue in the city.

The memorandum demanded accountability for the incidents, he said.

Chief Justice Dinakaran was jostled and two judges were locked up in the court hall during the protest by Advocates Association of Bangalore against the Chief Justice continuing to preside over the proceedings.
