Attacks on Maha govt employees; Act may be amended: Deshmukh Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh said he was amiable to the proposal of amending the existing law to take stringent action against those assaulting state government employees. "I agree that there should be a tougher provision to deal with such cases," Deshmukh said while addressing a meeting of state government's gazetted officers in Mumbai on Friday. The Chief Minister also said his government would adopt a positive approach on implementing the sixth Pay Commission report for state government staff ‘once the Central government implements the same'. "We have made a budgetary provision, envisioning such a possibility," Deshmukh said.
