The plea is submitted by NGO Citizens Against Hate through Advocate Fauzia Shakil. Nearly four months ago two muslim men died due to alleged torture in the police custody. The two men died were Taslim and Ghufran.

A bench consisting of Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi along with Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Aniruddha Bose will hear the petition on Tuesday after the apex court reopens on Monday.

The petition stated  that the two Muslim men were beaten brutally in the police custody. Their legs and hands were broken, their nails were hammered into their bodies. An inhuman and barbaric treatment was done with the two in custody.

The Plea seeks an unbiased inquiry into the incident and also the contempt of court proceedings against the police officials involved in the instant case.
