Bombay HC: Mah Govt's Decision On Creating New Revenue Division Challenged 1/14/2009 Two writ petitions were filed Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court, challenging the Maharashtra government’s decision to create new revenue divisional commissionerates at Nanded by bifurcating the Aurangabad divisional commissionerates. The writ petitions were filed in the High Court bench against the State’s decision and the preliminary hearing on the case has been placed on January 15. The first writ petition was filed by Advocates Razza Patel and Uday Govindrao Gaware (both from Latur) through Advocates Vinayak Hon, while MLA from Parbhani Suresh Deshmukh challenged the government’s decision through veteran lawyer P M Shah and Advocate Santosh Dhote. The petitioners requested to the court that the State’s decision on new revenue division taken on January 5 should not be implemented and an interim stay be granted on this decision till the petitions are pending with the court. When both the petitions came up for hearing before the High Court bench comprising Justices P V Hardas and P R Borkar, the special government pleader Sanjay Gangapurwala requested the court to allot two weeks time for filing the reply. Maharashtra Advocate General Ravi Kadam will remain present during the preliminary hearing on January 15. UNI
