DDA seeks more time for its internal inquiry

New Delhi, Jan 31 (UNI) The DDA sought more time for its internal inquiry, which was to conclude yesterday, into the alleged housing scam. Earlier, the inquiry was to come to an end on January 24 but later its term was extended till yesterday. A request from the DDA in this connection has been made to the Union Urban Development Ministry but it is yet to respond. The inquiry, led by DDA finance member Nand Lal, is looking into the criteria followed by the DDA during the allotment process and the way the software was put to use. All applications, including general and reserved category are being analysed. A fortnight ago, the three-member committee had sought expert help to assess the draw process. A letter had been shot off to the director general of NIC seeking an expert to assess the software. The DDA instituted an inquiry in the first week of this month only after the Union Urban Development Ministry insisted on one. It had also issued notices to a large number of genuine allottees seeking 12-point information regarding the allotment, but only two people have responded as yet.
