FIR Against Shivpal, Manoj Tewari Dated : 23 Feb 2009, 0212 hrs IST, Source : TNN LUCKNOW: Text: In the run-up to the by-election for the Bhadohi assembly constituency, where polling is slated for February 26, an FIR was lodged against senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Shivpal Singh Yadav, two sitting party MLAs and Bhojpuri film star Manoj Tewari for violation of election's model code of conduct. The four were reportedly moving in a convoy of 15 vehicles, though they were not permitted to use more than three vehicles. The FIR was lodged on the complaint of Central Election Observer (CEO) Vijay Kumar - an Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS with the Badohi police station. Apart from SP state unit chief Shivpal Singh Yadav, the FIR has names of sitting SP MP Paras Nath Yadav, Jaunpur MLA Vijay Misra along with Tewari. Manoj has been projected as the party candidate from Gorakhpur Lok Sabha constituency for the forthcoming parliament elections. In-charge of Badohi police station inspector Ram Kishan told TOI that no action had been initiated in connection with the FIR till late on Sunday evening.
