The Chhattisgarh High Court has issued notices to 25 professors of the Government Science College, Raipur for conducting journalism course and issuing bogus mark sheets without permission or affiliation from the Ravishankar University, Raipur. Mr Justice T P Sharma issued the notices yesterday on a petition filed by Mr Vijay Kumar Das. The petitioner said the college had conducted post graduate diploma course in journalism and communication in 2005 and the students, who paid a heavy amount as fees, were issued mark sheets with the university mono and signatures of the two professors. The students, however, failed to get employment in any media organization. When contacted, the university informed them that neither the college sought permission nor affiliation to conduct the course and the mark sheet was also bogus. Initially, the students lodged a complaint with a magistrate, who rejected it saying professor was a public servant and government permission was mandatory for his prosecution. The district court also rejected their plea and they later approached the High Court. By Ms.Bobby Aanand, Metropolitan Jury.
