Pakistan Supreme Court has passed an Order on 30th April to make amendments in the Gilgit Baltistan Order of 2018 to conduct the general assembly elections in that area.

India has lodged a strong protest with Islamabad against these directions of the Apex court of Pakistan. And have asked them to immediately vacate the areas under its illegal occupation.

The Ministry of External Affairs have issued a statement in which it has been mentioned that it was clearly conveyed that the areas of Gilgit Baltistan comes under the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, and it is an integral part of India by virtue of fully legal and irrevocable accession.

It also added, the Government of Indiais given the position to intervene in the matter by the resolution passed by the Parliament in 1994 by consensus.

India rejects such actions of bringing changes in the areas of Pakistan occupied Kashmir, as the Pakistani institutions have no locus standi on territories illegally and forcibly occupied by it.
