The Kerala High Court admitted a petition challenging the interference of religious and caste leaders in the electioneering process.



A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice S R Bannurmath and Mr Justice Kurian Joseph issued notices to organisations like the NSS, SNDP, Jammat-e-Islam and KCBC.



The petitioner, Dr S Ganapathi from Kollam, also urged that action should be taken against candidates who won the elections on the basis of support from religious and caste leaders.
