Kerala HC directive on distribution of ration items Kochi, Jun 12 The Kerala High Court today observed it was desirable for the government to hand over wholesale distribution of ration articles to the Civil Supplies Corporation run by it. Mr Justice C N Ramachandran Nair observed that in a phased manner, the government could assign the wholesale distribution of ration articles to the corporation, in the entire state. The court, however, said it cannot compel the government to do so. It also directed the government to consider whether wholesale distribution of ration articles in Thrissur Taluk could be done through the civil supplies corporation within three months. The court was considering a petition filed by Usha Chandran who had challenged the order of the government by which she was denied wholesale distributorship in Thrissur Taluk.
