The Secretariat of the Committee for Designation of Senior Advocates, Delhi High Court has notified that anumber of 237 Advocates have applied for the designation of Senior Advoacte.

According to the Rule 8 of The High Court of Delhi Designation of Senior Advocate Rules, 2018, the Secretariat has the power to compile the data of Advocates and produce it before the Committee for evaluation.

The Following aspects of the compiled data are looked into:

  1. The reputation, conduct and integrity of the Advocate
  2. Active participation in the pro bono work
  3. Number of reported judgements in which the Advocate has appeared for last 5 years
  4. Any other information can be considered by the committee as per the rules.

The notice puts a deadline of 4 weeks from October 1 for submitting any suggestions/views to the Secretariat of the CDSA and any such suggestion shall be accompanied by the verifiable material.
