SC Impleads Interim/Acting DGP Neeraj Sinha As Party In Contempt Case Over DGP’s Appointment

The Supreme Court has impleaded the Acting/Interim DGP, Jharkhand, Neeraj Sinha as a party in the contempt petition seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against State of Jharkhand. This was due to wilfully and deliberately disobeying the Apex Court's direction passed in the Prakash Singh judgement. The decision was given by the bench of Chief Justice NV Ramana, Justice Surya Kant and Justice AS Bopanna.

Using Public Parks For Any Other Purpose Would Amount To Breach Of Trust

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has directed the demolition of the Community Hall stating that use of public parks for any other purpose would be equivalent to a breach of trust. The decision was given by a Division Bench of Chief Justice Mohammad Rafiq and Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla. The said space should always be maintained only as a park and shall not be allowed to use for any other purpose.

Dilution Of Constitutional Autonomy Of HCs Would Threaten The Concept Of Judicial Federalism

The Allahabad High Court has held that dilution of constitutional autonomy of the High Courts would threaten the concept of judicial federalism. The decision was given by Justice Ajay Bhanot. The Court also noted that it has earned the trust of the people of the State by dispensing fair and impartial justice and by the probity of conduct of the Bar and the Bench alike.

Himachal Pradesh HC: Gallantry Medals Should Be Conferred Only At Republic/Independence Day Functions

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has held that candidates for public employment cannot claim relaxation in upper age limit as their right merely because the Chief Minister has tweeted in this regard.
