I am totally against death sentence. Life imprisonment is good enough to make a person sober. To take away somebody's life is being too cruel. The culprit may have acted on a short impulse or could also be hard core criminal. In both cicumstances life imprisonment will serve the desired purpose of insulating others from repeat harmful acts. By the time the culprit would be released from prison he would have aged and his hormonal and mental abnormalities would have settled or weakened. Till he is alive, he would be a constant reminder to others to not to indulge in henous crimes. With in jail he would also learn to be a productive man and introspect and get reformed. A tit for tat ie life sentence for a murder etc. is a too simplistic approach that undermines the human life's value. With passage of time even new disclosures and new facts could emerge. Life imprisonment alone should be the highest form of punishment as againt Death Sentence.

It play role to control and check the heneous offences in the society. If death sentence is banned, then the people may loose the fear in committing crime.

In a society like ours where on one side people are becoming more aware of human rights and liberties, etc. on the other hand there are people who are taking to white collar cime activities, which are detrimental to the society at large and which creates a social alarm at a large rate. Therefore I am of the opinion that in order to deal with such people law needs to continue garbing on the stringent cloak it has on since long in our legal system. Thus death sentence should not be abolished in India.

in kalyuga, the sense of self realization is dead. every thing has become mechanical and physical. so the crime of that level can be only stopped by ending the life of criminals.

Death sentence is the optimum level of punishment prescribed by the judiciary. some offences are so horrible and terrible in nature that to teach a lesson to the offender, the offender should be punishable with death sentence. I think it is the best and extereme level of punishment by the judiciary. Giving this punishment we do not only teach a lesson to the offender but also to the society too as a instance. As because no one commit such type of offence in near future.

Capital punishment in India is supposed to be handed down only in the "rarest of rare cases." So it have not to be banned r amended in India.

In 1977, just 16 countries had abolished the death penalty for all crimes. By 1988, 35 countries had done so and another 18 had abolished the death penalty for all but exceptional crimes like treason, and 27 more were considered abolitionist in practice because they had not carried out an execution in over 10 years. As of January 2008, 135 countries were abolitionist in law or practice.

It should be more frequent. It may prove to be a deterrant. Procedure should be fast.

death sentence , when imparted properly , acts as a DETTERENT to crime and the criminals... so , it should not be banned
