MEDIA TRIAL PUTS UNNECESSARY PRESSURE NOT ONLY ON JUDICIARY BUT ALSO ON THE AFFECTED PARTIES AS WELL AS MEDIA VIEWERS. THIS MUST BE RESTRICTED BY LAW.

I wonder why so many voted stating that it puts unnecessary pressure on judiciary. Media trial is nothing but video conferencing. It is quick, fast and no time is wasted where the complaint or relief sought is genuine

definately - media has no right to comment - on judicial matter - their should be code of conduct for media - and there should be limits on their comments - "NO ? - // - or ..... should be permitted to any mode of media

It appears so quite often. Though judiciary has its own parameters to look into a case and has to justify its judgements within the bounds of statute, yet, media trial has its impact may be indirectly.

Media is definitely acting as a catalyst for speedier disposal of cases.Media should also help the under priviliged in ensuring that justice is being done to them.Media should also address the issues of under trial prisoners.

It's not unnecessary pressure, however, it's necessary pressure. The way courts were treating high profile cases had become fracas in India. Let them work ruthlessly. Things will settle down in due course of time.

media should attempt to bring upto the people only their unnecessary show and repeating the story psychologically pressures people. When justice is done they do not highlight as highlighted for injustice. However, their should be some norms which they themselves adopt it and they should keep themselves within their limits. At many times as a lawyer I feel that media crossing the limits.

media trial is not only giving pressure to the judiciary but they are also interfering and disturbing the investigation of police / concerned agency at the initial stage only. they are responsible for investigating agency to make a scapegoat of a person other than the real culprit only because of their pressure, the investigating agency want to give a message to the public that they have investigated the crime & solved the case in due course.

Not only media the political party young cadre is used for pressurising the judiciary. It may not create any problem still it is a heavy mental strain at the lower judicial ranks in bail matters and death cases in media sensational matters. How to tackle this is now the question. We cannot advise the memebers of the judiciary to avoid the reading and veiwing of media crations. But they keeep in mind justice is being done not to the media but to the victim, offender and state.

Yes, the media trial is putting lot of pressure on judiciary as judiciary is an independent body and media cannot in any situation influence the judiciary. However judiciary is constitutionally independent and media trial should be in its limit as not to corrupt the minds of the people against judciary.

The reach of media, in the present time of 24-hour channels, is to almost every nook and corner of the world but some mechanism may have to be devised to check the publication which has the tendency to undermine the institution of judiciary.

in fact media is running parallel judiciary and the Indian media is devoid of any professional ethics, just for sake of TRPs unethical practices are being adopted by various media houses though i must give a bit of exception to NDTV. I am not their campaigner but if compared with others, NDTV still holds a bit of media ethics.

Definetely, even the 'pressure of media' was expressed by none other than our CJI recently in a seminar held at Hyderabad. See, the impact of media as it reaches every hook & nook corner of the globe, the news will have strong impact on a general public without knowing the intricacies involved in practically analysing the case which the court does, it is easy for the media to publish anything nonsense without having the true professional wisdom with regard to the interpretation of Law. vikram chandra, advocate.

In many cases, media sensitize the issue and blow the case out of proportion. The advent of TV news channels, the competition between them and raise in investigating journalism all puts enormous pressure on the investigating agency and the judiciary. Since there is no mechanism to control the media, they are allowed a free hand in this.
