Is Specialization in legal practise necessary ?

I FEEL THAT TODAY'S WORLD DEMANDS MULTI-SKILLS RATHER THAN SPECIALIZATION. THEREFORE, THIS CONCEPT IS VERY MUCH RELEVANT FOR LAWYERS ALSO. ONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE ANY LEGAL MATTER. SENIOR COUNSEL IN THE APEX COURT TAKES UP ALL KINDS OF MATTERS AND HANDLES THEM EFFECTIVELY. MOST OF THE JUDGES OF HIGHER JUDICIARY ALSO DEAL WITH ANY KIND OF MATTERS WITHOUT SPECILISATION ON A SINGLE BRANCH OF LAW. THIS SHOULD BE IDEAL WAY FOR LAWYERS TODAY.

ONE SHOULD HAVE A LOGICAL AND ANALYTICAL MIND. IT DOES NOT COME EVEN A PERSON STUDIES LAW. BY STUDYING LAW A PERSON COMES ACROSS THE COUR PROCEDURES AND ACTS AND RULES. HOWEVER IF A PERSON THOUGH NOT BEING LAWYEAR HAS THE QUALITY AS SAID IN THE FIRST FEW LINES, CAN BECOME A GGOD LAWYEAR. THIS IS LIKE THAT THE BEST ARBITRATORS ARE NOT LAWYEARS. THEY ARE PEOPLE FROM THE DISCIPLINES OF HISTORY, ENGINEERING AND ECONOMICS ETC. I REPEAT AGAIN, IT IS THE LOGICAL AND ANALYTICAL MIND WHICH MATTERS. Sriprakash Bhattacharya

Unless one is specialized or perfect in the particular subject by way or regular practice, it can be assumed that the advise is not perfect. However, in some circumstances there is only common sense which is required to settle the issue irrespective of the role of the legality involved, whereas some issues involve deep knowledge of relevancy in the subject. Thus as far as the later part is concerned the specilization is required in practice. Thus I hope as far as specilization is concerned I am recollecting a famous saying is ...... 'PRACTICE MAKE A MAN PERFECT'. regards, vikram.

Unlike Human Doctors, Specialization in legal practise is not necessary. Because, Judge would deliver the judgment based on the facts & records, evidence and whereas Specialist Doctor is solely responsible for treatment given to the patient

Specialization is not necessary, we as a lawyer should b able to resolve all kinds of disputes. Henceforth it is our duty to provide justice to the needy not depending upon the specialization.

for me,legal profession is the most prestigious profession in this world,we serve our country through our own view,we have the rights to save a person who is in distress,we can utilise totally, what we can study,a person-s life is depending on us,as how we handle the case, for me this profession must be choose by our next generation, here we gets lots of scope plus rights, with lots of status.

To be specialised in a particular area is good for the clients, so that they can approach lawyers according to their needs. But a lawyer can be specialised in different aspects of law unlike doctors

I feel after a few years of practice, one needs to specialize on a particular filed on practice. Like arbitration, tax (central excise, customs, income tax etc), company laws etc are specialized fields and there is good scope for the same
