Just as delivering justice is prerogative of Judiciary similarly appointment is the prerogative of executive and a detailed check on executive is kept by legislature. If appointment in judiciary is done by judiciary itself then nepotism and favouratism will be a mundane affair in appointment. So a more balanced approach is required in appointment e.g. a supreme court judge should be appointed on recommendation of committee which includes persons of all three wings viz executive , legislature and judiciary or may be like American system some parliamentary recommendation like thing may suffice

Executive - Legislative - Judiciary All the above three are interlinked and there will be a part for the other two in the appointment of Judicial Officers even at the stage of Higher Judiciary

infact role of executive is already there in the judicial appointments. its not only the plitico-administrative nexus is prevalent in this county but judiciary is also a part of this nexus. one could see a lot of incompetent people rising to the judicial post with their political backings. when the state govt. and central govt. are being headed by the same party and further the President is of the same party then How one could expect an impartial appointment of a judge?

Definitely not as it would pave way of intervention of political parties to influence the highest chair of the court.

Yes.. Involvement of Executive is necessary as empowering a single organ would lead to over power and distribution of power would dilute and give more transparency.

Executive through President of India and Prime Minister of India already involved in process making why a wing whose actions are directly under challenge in courts are given given an opportunity to influence independent character of Judiciary
