I had filled my category as OBC for CUET 2023. I had the certificate at that time. Additionally, I was not able to avail any benefit through that. However, when I applied for acollege, they wanted the updated obc certificate which i was not able to produce. Hence, I filled my category as Unreserved. Now I have to appear for the counselling soon. Will this discrepancy affect my admission? Repeating once, I did not avail any benefit.

you can renew obc certificate and show the same acknowledgement given by authority in counselling.

Since you have appeared as a general category candidate ignoring the reservation quota, and if allotted or being given the opportunity you can proceed/continue.
It is not mandatory for the candidate belonging to reserved category to opt for that category alone, he or she can opt for the vacancy in the general category also, there is no legal infirmity in it.
