One of my employees while leaving job removed the office property licence issued by local development authority along with subject file. I complained to police but they have done no0thing saying it is not theft.Then what it is? What is this offense which tantamount to destroying a property related original allotment letter (licence)and subject file.What is punishment

It is theft by servant of property in possession of master. If police on inquiry comes to the conclusion that it is not theft case, then file private complaint, before JMFC. Offence is punishable with imprisonment for a term may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.
