As per law minimum distance between two borewells is 250 meters as per WALTA Act. If they dug the bore well against law, you can file writ petition before the High Court and proceed against him.

The land situated at with in the 100 meter form the rural panchayat borewell. The purpose of borewell is need water for our own house.

But, when it is flouted with out caring for the law, who will take the cognizance? If no one takes cognizance whom to be reported. Unfortunately in a most recent township in Cuddapah, developed by Housing Board, there are about 450 individual houses, each touching the other, the most drought prone area in AP, each household is digging a borewell, as it is very cheap to dig a borewell at a cost of Rs 1 lakh upto 500'. Every one is digging borewells, even if they encounter with water at just 120,. Please suggest.

I'm from Karnataka, facing a similar issue for drilling borewell for agriculture purposes. Is the issue resolved? Are you able to drill the borewell now?
