Surat - gujarat padhenamu - "family tree" required

  • We have a commercial property in "Co-Operative Shops & Warehouses" - Umarwada - Surat.
  • On the share certificate of this property which is in joint holding, we have submitted all the papers to the transfer committee to delete the name of my father(1st holder) on death and add a new name as per nominee submitted by my late father.
  • All of family members have submitted "NOC & Indeminity Bond papers duly notarised".
  • Transfer Committee asked us to submit a "Padhenamu - Family Tree" otherwise a nominee name cannot be added on the board of this property.

The issue is as follows:-

1. Death of my Father taken place in Mumbai.

2. Our living address/ Domicile is in Mumbai.

3. I have been to many people who have given me mixed advice on how to get a padhenamu in Surat, whereas a Talathi in Mumbai has no power to draft it legally a padhenamu - Family Tree.

4. Could someone a lawyer / Advocate in Surat please comment.

Kumarbhai,

Thank You for your reply.

My late Father was not a government employee. I visited the link:- https://mumbaicity.gov.in/htmldocs/legal.htm

"Introduction: This certificate is issued for a limited purpose of receiving Government dues such as Govt. Provident Fund, Gratuity etc. to the legal heir of the deceased employee of the State and Central Govt."
