Time limit for investigations

There is no such limit but there are limit for taking cognizance under CrPC.  you have not stated under which section your case falls. You have the option to approach the CJM stating the police is going slow in the caes, and in that case the CJM can call for the case diary to ascertain the progress in the investigation.

There is no general outer limit as such. If the investigation is not completed within 60 or 90 days as such, then the accused if in custody gets the right to bail - this is the only time limit qua bail. Other than this if the ivnestigation is too protracted the accused person having the right to speedy trial can go to the high Court for directions of expediation of trial.

if accused in jail then it is mandatory for io to complete and file in court within 90 days.generaly there is no limit.

Mr Rashid if the accused is in jail then also it is not mandatory for IO to complete the investigation. If the investigation is not completed with 90 days the accused has a right to go on bail as explained by Mr Bharat above.
