Civil / criminal ?

I am the complainant in a criminal (Cheque bounce) case. After two years of court hearing, just before the passage of a judgement, the case was settled in the Lok adalat held on Feb. 2012 with the accused. The accused has not abided by the Lok adalat verdict. Even though the accused is a central government employee, his net take home salary is very meager. I am not in a position to bring to the notice of the court any valuable property in possession of the accused. In this situation can I file execution petition in the civil court to arrest the accused. Or do I have the option to continue the already filed criminal case as the cheque bounce offence continue to exist (I prefer this option). Can anyone offer a suitable legal opinion for the case.
