Hello ,

Today while going through my copies of property/ plot documents (brought 12 years back and from 4 years it is mortgaged to national bank) ) i have noticed few mistakes, that is MY GIVEN NAME  AS PER PASSPORT IS XXX REDDY UMESH AND SURNAME IS BLANK) and my property document show as UMESH X .

Now i am confused??

Should I inform bank ? next as all documents in bank i cannot get the documents back for correction , last but not least  If at all i managed to get i do not know where is the seller of the property to sign the correction in sale deed.

I appreciate if someone answer this question

dear querist ,

you dnt have to worry for nothing ,file a declaratory suit in the civil court regarding the confliction of your name in the various documents but the person is same person, after publication ,court will dclare that the person with name xxx reddy umesh and umesh x is same person. and you can read your name as xxx reddy umesh alias umesh x which means both the names are of one person.

Hello

Passport authorities normally ask for unabrievated names to show the name of the citizen. It is a must that the citizen's identity should not be challenged later. In India we have different styles of noting the name. Name with  father's name, Name with place of residence  name with caste etc.  You need not worry so long your name Umesh is there. If at all a confusion, you may file an affidavit stating that both names are denoting  the one and same person.
