Illegal videos

Hi,

Can a firm host illegal video content on its site and post the links on various internet sites?  What can be done to have this removed?

Thanks.

I think there is no ban to host illegal videos, but some sites will ban/block the  such videos.  You have to block such sites.

I wish to have the firm remove the video from the Internet.  It is a US-Indian firm.  Can a police complaint be given for it?

Hi You need to check whois of that site & inform it hosting provider about illegal hosting . that may block but if they dont just make an FIR or send an notice through lawyer that you are going to file FIR. IT ACT is too hard in india i think they remove it asap once they get notice. Thanks

Porno videos are not illegal they are simply adult content. But if it is a p*rno video portrayiing yourself or someone close to you, almost all sites will remove it without hassle, they do not want legal hassles. However, if it is a matter of diffamation, then there are certainly other remedies but you would have to prove that they are illegal.

Incidentally, there was a video of ex-governor of Andhra Pradesh starring in such a video. I wonder what happened to it!
