Is police station diary / daily diary a public document?

Is the Police Station Diary / Daily Diary a Public Document? Can such a document be refused under RTI?

Yes it's a public documents but RTI can refused if there are no benifite to public. However you can go to RTI site it will explain you everything

You can ask daily dairy in RTI, police cannot refuse it under any circumstances.

With due respect I must say that, though they may fall under the class of public documents all public documents are not to be made public, as some falls under privilege documents and are prohibited from calling such diaries even by the accused counsel.

N. K. Assumi: You are properly speaking about the Case Dairy relating to an investigation as stipulated in CRPC. I am talking of the General Police Station Daily Dairy that is kept at the police where all happenings for the day are recorded. Hope this sets the record straight.
