Gopinath.

Unless there is a custom in your area/ family of such marriages, this marriage can be declared void.

Dear all,

I would like to rose my case also.

I want to marry a girl who falls in my family relations. My father(X) and her maternal grandfather (Nana)(Y) are cousin brothers.  X's father and Y's father were real brothers.

Can we get married according to the law ?

Please advice.

Clearly, bride and groom are 'spindas'  of each-other from, at least, father's side of the bridegroom. And this marriage will be void ab initio -- therefore, their offspring will not be regarded as a 'legitimate' child.

Moreso, they are both from the same Gotra or Parvara; scientifically speaking, progeny of such marriage-relationships might be physically or mentally malformed.
