Service not served in crpc

A criminal appeal was filed u/s 397/399 in ADJ court. Court issued service to the defendants to its registered address 9 (nine) times through bearers and also through registered post with AD, but each time it was returned back with remark "addresse left the address".

Kindly guide me whats the next step we can take in this case

as the service of notice was left unserved, you may approch the sessions court. file an application saying that your opponent (person on whom notice served was returned) is absconding and hence, the court may pass an ex parte order in your favour.

is there any provision in CrPC, if so please provide me the sections/rules and if possible then the references also
