The three accused in the Sister Abhaya death case on Monday appeared before the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate Court and received the charge sheet.
Thomas Kottur, Jose Puthrikkayil and Sephy, appeared in response to the summons issued by the court after accepting the charge sheets filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation against them. The court posted the case to August 24 for further hearing.
The court exempted Fr. Thomas Kottur from appearing before court on the day of next hearing.
He pleaded that he be exempted from appearing, as he could not come on August 24 owing to a family function.
