Adoption of major youth

Can a lady adopt a young man above 18 as her son? what rights adopted man gets from her?

Or similarly can an family ( husband and wife) adopt a major lady over 18 years as their daughter. if they do not have a daughter in the family?

yes but as per the hindu adapotion act.

As per adoption act only a minor can be adopted..
