Advocate & journalism

Learned Members of the Group,

I seek your views regarding Advocate and Journalism.

Whether an advocate practising law is allowed by the Advocates Act 1961 to engage as a correspondent of a news paper on part time basis?

Please put forward your views.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Do you say it is as Part time and does not constitute the basic mode of earning?

It's news correspondent..... no office, no salary only just to provide the media house any news of the particular station assigned through through the net......

The letter of the Media house state as "The management is pleased to appoint you as a part-time correspondent of our paper with effect from........ . You willbe paid a monthly retainership of Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three Hundred) only. Seperate payment will be made for news items."

The seperate pament as stated in the letter is very nominal, based on news to be published, which my range from Rs. 100/- to 300/-.
