Affidavit in lieu of Sworn Statement in 138 cases

In cheque bounce cases Sec.145 provides for leading evidence through affidavit. Can it be extended to sworn Statement ? I need latest authority of apex court. Karnataka High Court in the year 2010 held that affidavit in lieu of sworn Statement is not permissible. I need latest authority against the said verdict.
