Am i liable to pay rent in case of no rental agreement?

Hi,

I am staying at a hostel where I pay my rent at the end of the month(not at the beginning). I do not have any written agreement with the landlord. Also, he gives me the receipt for rent mentioning 'Administrative charges' rather than 'Rent' on the receipt. Now he has asked me to vacate in the middle of the month within a weeks time and also pay him the current month's rent. I have already found alternate accomodation and paid the advance there.  Also, I will be moving there in a day's time. Am I required to pay him the current month's rent even though I don't have any such written agreement? If I dont pay then can he sue?

there is no need of monthly payable tenancies. U are bound to pay till u possess that estate. Owner may sue too.
