Even if a particular action is done for the public benefit, if it is illegal, then the appropriate authorities will take the proper legal action on the person. As a part of the legal action they may take, they may also pardon an act which was unselfish, but you will be liable for legal action in case they decide to.
Anticipatory bail is given in those cases where the indvidual justifies why his arrest would be without any basis or that if arrested it will be gross injustice or that his being on bail is unlikely to affect the enquiry or any other actions by authorities. Do remember that to give anticipatory bail or not is entirely in the hands of the honourable Court which will decide on the basis of the law and the facts of the case. So you may apply for the anticipatory bail with your justification and you may or may not be granted.
