Apartment monthly maintenance

A few tenants in my apartment complex have not been paying monthly maintenance. The query therefore is - Who is finally accountable for paying maintenance? Is it the apartment owner or is it his tenant? Are we right in assuming that the tenant pays maintenance on behalf of owner. Any hence for non-payment of the same, the owner is to held accountable. Please advise.

The owner is liable for payment of maintenance charges to the Society.

If the owner had rented out his/her apartment, then through an agreement between the apartment owner and the tenant, it should be ensured as to who will pay the maintenance charges to the society.

In any case, the society will address the demand for maintenance charges only to the Apartment owner.  It is for the Apartment owner to sort it out between him/her and the tenant this issue.

Have you got a registered society? Under which act has it been registered?
