In criminal law, acquittal means a judge or jury finds the defendant not guilty, meaning the prosecution failed to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, it signifies that the prosecution failed to prove their case against the defendant beyond a reasonable doubt.

If you believe the complainant made false and defamatory statements that caused you harm, you can file a defamation case but within three years from the knowledge of offence.

Collect evidence of the defamatory statements, including the time, place, and context in which they were made.

Determine which statements are defamatory and harm your reputation.

Entire case file has to be perused for forming proper opinion on the issue of defamatory statements made therein the complaint(s) and oblige.

Otherwise show the case file to another local prudent lawyer for proper analyses of the case and judgment of acquittal as stated by you and professional advise / necessary proceeding, if you have lost faith in your lawyer, who is well aware about facts and circumstances of the case and sailed you through rough waters to manage favourable acquittal orders.
