Associate member

Our Society was constituted in 1958 and is following the old bye-laws. Last year a resident of our building was inducted as an Associate Member in the Society; elected to the Managing Committee and  made the Secretary. When I pointed out that under the old bye-laws this was not permitted; the MC said under the amended Maharashtra State Cooperative Society's Act 1960 this is allowed even for Societies which continue to use the old bye-laws. Are they correct?

Regards

Ramani

amendment is applicable to all society registered under the the said  Maharashtra State Cooperative Society's Act 1960.

even if ur society is registered in 1958, the  Maharashtra State Cooperative Society's Act 1960 is applicable as amended till date.

What I wish to know Is there an amendment to the MSCSAct 1960 which allows an associate member to hold office and become the secretary in a Society that follows the old bye-laws?
