Builder/rwa demanding maintenance charges before possession

I had booked a villa from Virgo buildestate Pvt Ltd at Jaipur on 25.03.2019. Registry was done on 26.06.2019 (At that time villa was not completed and work was going on.Though builder insisted for registry so that they can complete it on time).After many follow ups,I finally got the possession on 28.12.2019. Now RWA has sent me notice for maintenance charges from July 2019 onwards whereas possession was taken on dec 2019.(registry on 26.06.2019). Kindly advise me in this regard.Am I liable to pay from date of registry and if not then how should I proceed further. Thanks
