Can i transfer trademark ownership to other?

The assignor, who is the owner of the trademark, has the right to sell, license, or transfer it just like any other asset or piece of property. The Trademark Assignment Agreement or Trademark Licensing may be used to transfer a trademark. By using this trademark license can I transfer my trademark ownership to someone else?

In my view Yes.  The transferee and the transferor shall submit an application to the Registrar of Trade Marks.

Trademark owners may need to transfer ownership or change the name on their application or registration. This could happen while your trademark application is being examined or after your trademark has registered. Here are examples of common reasons:

  • I’ve sold my business and need to transfer ownership of the trademark.
  • I got married just after I filed my application and my last name changed.
