House built by father on ancestral land

Can father of 3 sons and 2 daughters, give residential house built by him, on ancestral NA land, to one son only? Mentioning in a letter that he(father) wants to give the residential house to one son only and do not want to give share in that house to 2 other sons, not even mentioning the names and share in house for his 2 daughters. Base on this letter, Gram Panchayat has tranfered the house from father's name to one son name. Is it legal? Name was tranfered 24 years ago. Can other 2 sons and 2 daughters claim their share in the house today?

1.father can't give house built on ancestral land to only one son which is illegal as other legal heirs also have equal share in it.

2.gram panchayat order is also illegal.

3.when other legal heirs came to know about said transfer

How do you say that it's an ancestral property?

If you have evidence to prove that it is certainly an ancestral then you can file a suit for partition and claim your rightful share in the property as per law.

When it was done 24 years ago, why were you silent all these years? Is it reliable?
